Baton Change at Delvag and Albatros: Frank Hülsmann hands over executive board responsibilities to Roland Kern

Roland Kern becomes new member of the Management Board of Delvag Versicherungs-AG and member of the Management Board of Albatros Versicherungsdienste GmbH / Frank Hülsmann resigns after six years from the Delvag Management Board and the Albatros Management Board

Roland Kern will become a member of the Managing Board of Delvag Versicherungs-AG and a member of the management of Albatros Versicherungsdienste GmbH as of 1 July 2019. He succeeds Frank Hülsmann, who will leave Delvag's Managing Board and the Albatros management after 6 years on June 30, 2019.

Roland Kern together with board member Lorenz Hanelt thus forms Delvag's top management and will in future be responsible for strategy, finance, marine insurance, human resources, legal affairs, marketing and IT.

Roland Kern has been General Manager of Delvag Versicherungs-AG since 1 July 2018. Until mid-2018 he was Managing Director of the Lufthansa subsidiary AirPlus, where he was responsible in particular for Finance, Operations, Global Services and Regulatory & Risk. He started his career with the Lufthansa Group in 2006 and was Head of Group Treasury of the Lufthansa Group from 2006 to 2014. There he was responsible for cash management, liquidity and risk management as well as asset management and pension funds. Prior to that, the banker and state-certified foreign trade business economist spent 22 years with the Deutsche Bank where he held various positions in sales, product and risk management.

Frank Hülsmann is leaving Delvag after six years as a member of the Delvag Management Board of and as a member of the Albatros Management Board and is moving to his adopted home in Hamburg to take on new professional challenges. The business graduate has given the Delvag Insurance Group a future-oriented orientation in the changing market environment and sustainably strengthened its earning power. Hülsmann was particularly proactive in shaping the change process and implementing important portfolio measures. After 20 years, Frank Hülsmann is also leaving the Lufthansa Group, where he was previously responsible for financial strategy and rating relationships in the Corporate Finance division and, as Head of Investor Relations, played a key role in shaping Group development. Frank Hülsmann is a member of the Supervisory Board of Lufthansa AirPlus Servicekarten GmbH, Neu Isenburg.
