Delvag appoints new Head of Insurance and Reinsurance

Andreas Brügel will become Head of Insurance and Reinsurance at Delvag Versicherungs-AG on 1 May 2023 and will report directly to the Executive Board in this position. He succeeds Tobias Winkler, who will become new Member of the Executive Board of Delvag Versicherungs-AG and Member of the Management of Albatros Versicherungsdienste GmbH. 

In his new position, Andreas Brügel will be responsible for the aviation, marine and reinsurance lines of business. He will also steer the strategy for this business segment. In addition to leading and developing the teams, a central task is to strengthen the captive role within the Lufthansa Group, to develop the relevant markets and products, and to continue the digital transformation in the area. 

Andreas Brügel is an experienced senior insurance leader with many years of experience in insurance, reinsurance and captive insurance. He began his professional career at Albatros Versicherungsdienste GmbH, including a foreign secondment at Star Risk Services, a former Albatros subsidiary, in the USA. He then held various positions at Delvag Versicherungs-AG. Since February 2020, Andreas Brügel has been in charge of reinsurance at Delvag. In 2022, he received the "European Captive Risk Manager of the Year 2022" award.
